Established in 2020 by Matt and Julie Bell, Focal Point Cinema & Cafe Palmerston North offers a unique dining and cinematic experience with plush 1920's décor, fantastic comfort and a warm friendly atmosphere. Located at 223 Cuba Street in the popular George Street hospitality area and only a short walk from The Square, in the centre of Palmerston North.
At Focal Point Cinema and Café we offer over 120 movie sessions per week with a range of mainstream, arthouse and international films. A fully licenced café/restaurant is open from 8am to late offering cabinet and menu food throughout the day and into the evening.
Our four cinemas offer luxurious leather seating with extra leg room and the option of converting pairs of single seats into cosy two-seater couches. Wide tablet fitted armrests are ideal for placing the food and beverage of your choice available from our fully licenced café.
Our cinemas are equipped with modern digital projection and 7.1 surround sound audio equipment. All auditoriums have level ground floor access, are wheelchair accessible and have hearing impaired audio assistance devices available on request.
Focal Point Palmerston North also offers a first floor function room suitable for dining groups of up to 50 people and hosting a range of private functions and conferences. Dining options range from platters of light finger food through to full three course buffet meals or alternatively it could be morning and afternoon teas. Out-catering services are also available.
